Who Is Holly?
My name is Holly, I'm 13 years old. That's me in the picture with my dog, Rosie. I was diagnosed with a progressive spinal disorder known as syringomyelia (SM) when I was two years old. Since then, I developed several other related disorders including Chiari Malformation (CM), tethered spinal cord, intracranial hypertension (also called pseudotumor cerebri), and now hydrocephalus. I've had a total of 15 brain and spinal surgeries.
What is Holly doing?
There is a lot in my life that I can't change. I can't make my head stop hurting. I can't make my legs stop hurting. I can't make a lot of the problems I live with go away. But I CAN do something. In 2006 I decided I wanted to start raising money for medical research.
My goal is to raise $20,000 before I graduate high school. And I need your help! Please help me reach my fundraising goal by making a donation or purchasing one of my bracelets. You can make a tax-deductible donation directly to ASAP by using the link on the left hand side. Be sure to put Holly's name in the box for child's name. See the fundraising total grow!
All proceeds from my fundraisers are donated to the American Syringomyelia Alliance Project, Inc. to the Kids For A Cure Medical Research Fund.
